AMIT RANJAN

I am a seasoned UX/UI Designer and dedicated educator, currently serving as a Design Lead. With a strong emphasis on Usability, Accessibility, and Experience, I have amassed over a decade of experience in spearheading innovative strategies and designing for a wide range of projects.

In my role as a team leader, I provide invaluable guidance to fellow designers, ensuring the creation of exceptional user experiences. This leadership experience has honed my skills in team management, project coordination, and the delivery of high-quality design solutions.

One of my most notable accomplishments was receiving the prestigious Gandhian Young Technology Innovation Award at IIM Ahmedabad. This recognition was the result of my project focused on educating rural women in Assam about pregnancy-related issues and care. It showcased my ability to leverage design thinking and innovation to address real-world challenges and make a positive impact on communities.

I am deeply passionate about crafting meaningful interfaces that bridge the gap between complex information and user-friendly experiences. My expertise spans various areas, including user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design. I am proficient in industry-standard design tools such as Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD.

Additionally, I possess extensive experience in conducting comprehensive UX audits and ensuring strict adherence to accessibility guidelines throughout the design process. I firmly believe in the power of iteration and continuous improvement to deliver exceptional results. My meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to providing pixel-perfect designs have been honed through my experience in Design QA and close collaboration with development teams.

My approach to work varies depending on project requirements, but I generally follow a structured framework consisting of 6 iterative stages: Understand, Concept, Define, Build, Release, and Grow. Moreover, the design process I follow adheres to 6 key phases:

  1. Plan, Scope and Define
  2. Exploration, Synthesis, and Research
  3. Concept Generation, Design and Early Prototype
  4. Evaluation, Testing, Feedback, Iteration, and Production
  5. Design QA, Launch and Monitor
  6. Ongoing Review, and Analysis, and Design Iteration.

Education plays a vital role in my professional journey. I hold a Master’s in Interaction Design (M.Des) from IIT Guwahati, a Master’s in Visual Communication (MA) from Birmingham City University Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design from Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai.

As for my skill set, it encompasses a wide range of competencies including User Research, Strategy, User Interface Design, Interaction Design, Design Thinking, Card Sorting, Competitive Analysis, Information Architecture, Contextual Inquiry, Ethnography, Heuristic Evaluation, Persona Development, Prototyping, Wireframing, Interviewing, Stakeholder Mapping, A/B Testing, Scenarios, Storyboarding, Sketching, Usability Testing, User Journey Mapping, Mood Board Creation, Color Palette Selection, Art Direction, Branding, and more.
